Sur Gédéon Le Pennec de Boysjollan : suite au départ de Carentoir, il fut nommé le 16 décembre 1590 commandant du camp de La Bretesche, citadelle huguenote près de Nantes. Fait prisonnier en 1591, il fut libéré grâce à l'intervention de sa tante auprès du duc de Mercoeur et moyennant une rançon payée par un cousin. Pour rembourser ce cousin, il vendit notamment la seigneurie de Bois-Jolland à un autre cousin qui la revendit ensuite à la veuve de Gédéon (mort en 1607 ou 1608) en 1612.

The initiative sought to emphasize the importance of books and literacy in education and culture as well as the social role of all those involved in publishing - from authors to printers booksellers libraries etc. The U.S. Secretariat operated from roughly 1971 in the planning phase through 1973 following the observance.<br /> <br /> The image on this poster was generated on computer at Dolphin Productions Inc. a New York-based animation house that produced some of the earliest computer animation and graphics in the U.S. It was printed by Auto Screen/Lehigh Inc. on mylar supplied by Arkwright Interlaken. <br /> <br /> <br /> Really a tremendous frequently reproduced and visually appealing piece; futuristic in design this image speaks to the importance of books and literacy in the age of early computers.
