During the negotiations Jean de Morvillier Sebastien de l'Aubespine François de Montmorency and Robertet d’Allaye represented the Crown on the Huguenot party Odet de Coligny Charles de Téligny Gaspard II de Coligny and François de Coligny d’Andelot were delegated by Louis de Bourbon Prince of Condé.<br /> The text was published by other French publishers and also appeared in Antwerp in the same year.<br /> USTC 79050. Orné dun frontispice gravé sur cuivre reproduisant la vignette du titre de la fort rare édition originale de 1625. Ce livre est spécialement consacré à la chasse du Cerf. These ordinances were published several times even after the king's death the last one held by the BN de France dates from 1585. Contemporary stitching with reuse of leaves from a Latin incunable. 5 gatherings are bound together and to the endleaves with leather thongs the first three gatherings now held together only by one stitch. A light dampstain at bottom right on the first 5 leaves pale foxing on the title page. A table of contents at the end of the work allows one to find the various ordinances which concern all the trade guilds the king's officers and the clergy. Charles IX was only ten years old when he acceded to the throne in 1560 during the regency of Catherine de Medici who appointed Antoine de Bourbon Lieutenant General of the kingdom. It was during the meeting of the Estates General at Orleans from 13 December 1560 to 31 January 1561 that these ordinances were proclaimed and published. Benoist Rigaud hardcover

It had originally been published in 1625 as "La chasse royale" but that edition was extremely inaccurate and deleted significant portions of the work. That text was reprinted in 1857 and 1858. In 1859 Chevreul published this edition the first edition based on the original manuscript. From a total edition of 225 copies this is one of 200 copies on fine laid paper with the frontispiece portrait on Chine applique. 8vo. Original wraps. Wraps lightly worn internally uncut and clean.
