Olimpia Maidalchini in Pamphilj (1591-1657) fu figura avida, ambiziosa e potente - caratteristiche che le valsero anche il soprannome di Papessa - nella corte papale di Innocenzo X. Prima edizione. Ex-libris Caproni. Qualche forellino di tarlo al dorso e lungo le cerniere. Note manoscritte coeve alla carta di guardia anteriore e al verso del frontespizio.

Binding is solid and square, covers have sharp corners, exterior shows no blemishes, text/interior is clean and free of marking of any kind. 8 pages b&w photos, Contents include: Tiryns of the great walls, Mycenae and Egypt, Dendra Cuirass, Sandy Pylos, Olympia, Delphi and the Bagnarotte, heseus, King Minos, Storm over Knossos, etc. The glue in this perfect bound book is over 50 years old and is likely fragile.
