VIII 295 pp. Illustrated with 14 full-page reproductions of Chinese woodcuts. One of 15 large-paper copies printed on fine Chinese paper the rest of the edition was printed on wood-pulp paper. An extremely odd association copy with the authentic bookplate of French statesman Léon Gambetta 1838-1882 who had died thirty years before the book was published! 8vo. Bound in contemporary quarter cloth and marbled boards. Uncut. Original wraps preserved. Light wear to binding. A little internal spotting as almost always with Chinese paper.
