Roger Parry met the Surrealist photographer Maurice Tabard in 1928 and together they experimented with avant-garde techniques such as negative printing and superimposition techniques Parry used for this publication. Small folio. 16 full-page monochrome photogravures. Original wrappers titles to spine and front wrapper in black and blue. With the original dust jacket and glassine wrapper. Fargue's poem was originally published in 1928 without illustrations but is here reissued with 16 photographs by Roger Parry using multiple techniques such as photogram photomontage solarization and negative print. With an original pencil drawing on transparent paper by Raoul Dufy bound in 325 x 245 cm. Signed by Raoul Dufy with his initials RD in ink. Authentication stamp of Andre Robert on verso: 'Authentifie Raoul Dufy par Andre Robert'. The drawing is reproduced as a lithograph on page 73. Limited edition of 277 copies.
