Tonia Fiorino Associata di Sociologia della letteratura, svolge la sua attività didattica presso il Dipartimento di Filologia moderna nella Facoltà di Lettere dell´Università di Napoli Federico II. Fa parte del comitato di redazione della rivista »Esperienze letterarie», fondata da Mario Santoro. Ha pubblicato in volume Metri e temi della scuola siciliana, Moretti in diacronia, Rifrazioni dal reale, Interpretazioni sociologiche. Ha curato con Franco Greco un volume di saggi su Eduardo 2ooo. Ha scritto articoli su vari argomenti come la lettura, la canzone napoletana, il romanzo settecentesco, Rocco Scotellaro, Anna Maria Ortese, la pubblicistica femminile, la narrativa europea ottocentesca. Grande, eroico libro, scritto da un pilota che non soltanto partecipò alla battaglia d'Inghilterra dal principio alla fine, ma fu protagonista della famosa e più difficile missione dell'ultima guerra: quella che distrusse in Germania le dighe di Mohne e di Eder. In-4° piccolo, pp. 16, brossura editoriale illustrata a colori da Henry Morin, cui si debbono le belle illustrazioni a colori accompagnate da testi di Valdor. Assai simili ai fumetti (la sola differenza è che il testo non è contenuto nella classica nuvoletta, ma è in calce alle figure), le presenti tavole ricordano quelle dei celebri albi di Christophe ("La famille Fénouillard", "Bécassine", ecc.). Ottimo stato, salvo dorso rifoderato. Edizione originale. Valdor è lo pseudonimo di Elisabeth Boutet (Bourges,1871-Parigi, 1963 o 1964), sorella dello scrittore Frédéric Boutet. Ella intraprese come il fratello la carriera letteraria con lo pseudonimo di Valdor, inizialmente con racconti su varie riviste dell'epoca e poi come romanziera, scrivendo per le edizioni cattoliche La Bonne Presse e Mame& fils e collaborando regolarmente con numerose riviste. Su invito di Pinchon partecipò alla redazione di L'enfance de Bécassine, il primo album del popolare personaggio. Durante la Grande Guerra assistè come volontaria i feriti gravi di guerra e fu nota anche in seguito per le sue opere di carità non meno che per la sua attività letteraria.

A charming livre d'artiste, the first of eleven published between 1904 and 1906 in the "Collection de l'Academie des Goncourt". THIS IS THE PUBLISHER'S COPY, aside from the edition of 350 numbered copies. Illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of the authors and ten charming original engravings (8 of which are full-page and hors-texte) by Louis Morin, a few lightly erotic. Beautifully printed in Auriol types (an art nouveau font) on fine wove paper. This copy includes: a complete set of page proofs, on the front of which Romagnol, the editor, has scrawled in ink his plan for the entire collection; two autograph letters signed by Morin to Romagnol, in which he discusses the illustrations for this book (and getting paid for them); 2 additional suites, in different states, of the eleven engravings in the book, including a suite in remarque state; 2 rejected engravings, each in 2 states (these are perhaps unique: according to the justification, no copies were issued with the "planches refusees"); a prospectus for the entire collection; 9 specimens of etchings by artists whose work would appear in the collection (Jouas, Vidal, etc.); a newspaper article (from Les annales politiques et litteraires, October 20, 1903) about the FIRST PRIX GONCOURT, which was to be given a few days later; and a newspaper ad announcing the Collection de l'Academie des Goncourt. 8vo. Book in original wraps, suites loose in wraps, as issued. Both are housed along with the other material in a contemporary custom-made cloth slipcase. In near fine to fine condition throughout. A unique item.
