His political career served eight different presidents including most notably as presidential advisor to his brother John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson.<br /> <br /> <br /> He served as president of three major American universities: Kansas State University 1943-1950 Pennsylvania State University 1950-1956 and Johns Hopkins University 1956-1967. In 1971 Eisenhower returned to Johns Hopkins as president temporarily when the acting president resigned suddenly. He trained then Provost Steven Muller who was officially given the position in 1972.
