Contains House documents from the end of the Eisenhower administration and beginning of the Kennedy administration including two detailed reports that were pivotal to the completion of Eisenhower's Interstate Highway Program which was then engaged in a battle for its life as an additional $11.6 billion was needed to complete the Program on schedule or scale it back. Also included are early addresses by John F. Kennedy and the important final report of the Boston National Historic Sites Commission a detailed study of Boston's historic sites and buildings from the Colonial and Revolutionary periods. The son of President Eisenhower John Eisenhower served as a young officer in WWII an aide in the White House and Ambassador to Belgium among other experiences. The book is inscribed to Andrew S. Low a fellow cadet at West Point whom is mentioned extensively on pages 36-39. Major General Low later became director of aerospace programs for the Air Force.
