55674re-issued as a Press Photograph when Queen Alexandra died showing the Prince and Princess of Wales seated with their infant children all except the baby intent on the camera 7½" x 6½" no place the original no date but This is an interesting photograph because Alexandra has her hair down as she is recovering from rheumatic fever which she suffered from whilst she was expecting Princess Louise. Exceptional Silk bound copy of the Ceremonial of their marriage 1841-1910 King of Great Britain & ALEXANDRA of Denmark 1844-1925 his Queen

43047detailing the procession from Windsor Castle to St George's Chapel and listing the guests and their carriages 33 pages folio printed by Harrison and Sons St Martin's Lane bound in Royal Blue watered silk with the royal crest in gold on the front Windsor Castle 10th March The wedding of Albert Edward Prince of Wales later King Edward VII and Princess Alexandra of Denmark later Queen Alexandra took place on 10th March 1863 at St. George's Chapel Windsor Castle. It was the first royal wedding to take place at St. George's and the last wedding of a Prince of Wales until Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer's 1981 wedding. The carriage procession began from Windsor Castle. The Danish royal family were first followed by the British royal family members; the Prince of Wales and his entourage were in the next-to-last carriage with the bride coming last. Queen Victoria was not part of the procession as she was taken to the chapel privately. She was escorted by her brother-in-law the Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha; she was dressed in mourning and viewed the ceremony from above and out of view of the other guests. The ceremony was conducted by Thomas Longley the Archbishop of Canterbury. unknown

The King Lady Burton Princess Henry of Pless Mrs G. Keppel Miss Thornewill 9½" x 7½" in photographer's mount 13½" x 12" Rangemore Hall was rebuilt in the late 1850s around an earlier 1822 core for Michael Bass head of the brewery Bass Ratcliff and Gretton and was first occupied in 1860. His son Lord Burton reconstructed and extended the house adding the Edward VII south wing in Italianate style in 1898-1901 for a visit of King Edward VII in 1902 with a second visit on 5 January 1907 including Queen Alexandra and Mrs Alice Keppel the King's mistress. The grounds which include a 2½ acre lake were landscaped by Sir Joseph Paxton and later by Edward Milner. unknown

34095showing the Prince of Wales full length in fancy dress costume for a tableau vivant he is wearing Scottish millitary kit with kilt and sporran and a breastplate 6½" x 4¼" London no date circa The practice of the Household performing tableau vivants over the New Year was revived some time after the death of the Prince Consort. There were normally several scenes each representing a letter or word followed by a final scene depicting the entire word. The Tableau often reproduced paintings - a particularly successful one being 'La Rixe' The Brawl after the painting by E. Meissonier which had been given to the Prince Consort in 1856. The scene was a quarrel in a tavern which Queen Victoria considered 'a truthful presentation of the picture'. They were not always so well received - a biblical tableau of Naomi and Ruth in 1888 was described by the Queen as 'not quite so successful as it might have been owing to the ladies getting the giggles and shaking'. The Tableau Vivant photo is an unusual form of photography which Queen Victoria had a passion for from the 1850s. This is one of the later ones which are more difficult to find as the majority of them have remained in Royal Collections. unknown

Wine Office Court Fleet Street 1876. 8vo. iv 90pp plus publisher's advertisement leaves. Illustrated throughout with comic engraved caricatures and satirical scenes by "Whew". Original printed wrappers lightly marked and creased with minor wear to spine and edges; internally sound and clean. A very good copy. A satirical poke here directed toward the future Edward VII. The annuals formed part of the flourishing market for inexpensive illustrated political humour produced around Fleet Street in the 1870s. Attribution remains uncertain with Samuel Beeton and Aglen A. Dowty among the names associated with the series alongside possible contributions from Evelyn Jerrold and other satirical writers. 54742appointing Alfred Francis Gerald Ruston as 2nd Lieutenant in the Territorial Force printed in a handsome italic type with manuscript additions enjoining him "to exercise and well discipline in Arms. the inferior Officers and Men serving under you." good papered seal with the King's title and arms countersigned also by Major General Sir Charles Frederic HADDEN 1854-1924 Master General of the Ordnance 1 side 12" x 16" folding to 12" x 4" short title on verso Court at St. James's 16th December The Territorial Force was formed on 1st April 1908 by combining the existing Militia and Volunteer units. The short title names Ruston as attached to 'Chatham C Company Works Kent Fortress Companies Royal Engineers' on 18th December 1908. Later as Lieutenant he was attached to the Submarine Mining School at Gillingham as Captain he commanded No. 1 Works Company at Tonbridge and as Major in 1915 survived the sinking of HMS Hythe which was attempting to land Kent engineers in the Dardanelles. unknown
