Very good in its original blind embossed cloth covered boards with gilt text on the spine and on the front board. A small quarto of 10 by 6 3/4 inches with rubbing and light wear to the cloth at the head and heel of the spine and to the tips of the boards. The first 15 pages has minor chips to the margin of the lower edges of the pages. Without a dust jacket and probably as issued. 583 pages including an index chronology and text. Illustrated from facsimiles of historical documents and images from black and white photographs. There is a significant section of the text devoted to the British raid on Danbury which occurred in April of 1777 during the American Revolution.
