This posthumous collection of studies by Scheiber, the last of his own gathering, has turned into a sad event for scholars of Judaism and ethnography. Prof. Scheiber was the learned director of Budapest's Rabbinical Seminary for nearly forty years; during this period he educated several generations of rabbis and scholars, wrote 1500 publications, edited and contributed to a variety of scholarly journals and anthologies.
