Card lightly soiled & age-toned.<br /> <br /> Cocktails include the Amber Dream a variant excluding vermouth and possibly the first mention of the cocktail¹ A Side Car The Flying Scotsman and the aptly named Depression Pick-up.<br /> <br /> The Hotel Hayes was a grand 10-storey 200 room hotel at 228 West Michigan Avenue Jackson in the centre of Michigan. The hotel opened in November 1926 and featured a grand ballroom dining room dance hall and conference rooms as well as the popular Drum Room bar and lounge. The Hotel was a popular venue for touring big bands and musicians and was a popular 'G.I' venue during WWII.<br /> <br /> Scarce. 1926605Oklahoma City: Hotel Kingkade 1926. 16 x 6 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Route 66- juThe Hotel Kinked opened in 1912 in Oklahoma City. It billed itself as Gateway to Oklahoma. The map on the verso is small but powerful in its image. It shows the route from Chicago to Los Angeles. The is highlighting with a red arrow to Oklahoma City. Numerous towns are located along the way. The banner a the top says in a scroll Main Street of America. Below the scroll is the course of the road on an elevation chart that tops out at the Continental Divide at 7265 feet. . The map below is beautiful in its presentation of "The Mother Road." Also highlighted in red are Chicago St. Louis and Loa Angeles. Also included are mileage charts for the users going east or west. The distances are from Oklahoma City. This is a must have piece that will take up little room in any serious collection of Route 66! Hotel Kingkade unknown

29018674Paris France: MP Marcel Picardo 12-Jun-02. A single fold menu for Hotel de L'Empire located in Paris France. The menu is most likely for their hotel restaurant and is dated June 12 1902. That night dinners had a choice been Turbot fish in a cream sauce or chicken. The hotel was located at No. 7 Rue Daunou and is no longer in existence though there is a hotel by the same name currently in Paris. The menu also has an advertisement for Redfern a store in Paris that sold Furs Robes Dresses Manteaux coats Lingerie and Trousseaux. Refern was a British tailoring firm founded in 1855 by John Redfern that had several stores across Europe. Its Paris extension was operated as a couture establishment which developed into a leading European Couture house while its other branches were mostly tailors and/or importers. The Paris branch closed in 1940. The menu as well as advertisement have gilded decorative elements with the Refern advertisement featuring a high society lady dressed in a fashionable attire and the menu depicting a hunting scene with a dog rifle and dead hare.
