DALLA PREFAZIONE: "For me, as a widely traveled artist, hotels usually are places of encounter, a framework to set off the diversity of cultural life. Four specific examples in Germany - Hotel Elephant in Weimar, Parkhotel Hoflossnitz in Dresden/Radebeul, Hotel Klosterle in Nordlingen and Parkhotel in Deggendorf - show that such places may indeed express the most sophisticated tasted of our times, if the surrounding culture is taken into account. The combination of art and architecture, atmosphere and design, turns these hotels into works of arts in their own right.
