The double-page spread on the inside gives an elaborate dinner menu on p. 2 for Tuesday March 19 including turtle soup leg of mutton jole and greens calf's feet a la Horli Sago cakes with wine roast prairie grouse with jelly as well as assorted vegetables relishes pastries and desserts; the wine list on page 3 lists 10 champaigns 14 clarets 3 ports 9 "native wines" and assorted white wines cider liqueurs ales and porters all with prices affixed. Fine example. The Louisville Hotel opened in 1833 was the city's first large elegant hotel; it closed in 1938 and was razed in 1949. M. Kean & Co the owner of the hotel also ran the Maxwell House Hotel in Nashville which opened in 1869. John P. Morton & Co unknown
