It is the nearest first-class hotel to the Union Terminal the junction of five great railroads. Black and white photographs of the main dining room a typical bedroom the lobby and more. The rates for its 300 bedrooms are: single rooms $3.00 to $5.00 double rooms $5.00 to $8.00. Describes the main hotel office with telephones telegraphs newsstand taxi-cab office et.al.; Barber Shop Book and Gift Shop and a Drug Store. "The Hotel George Washington is the only Hotel in the South with Radio in every room the equipment being equalled only by the largest hotels in the country." Second Edition originally published under the slightly different title Famous Recipes of Famous People and issued by the Hotel del Monte without Sunset Magazine in 1936. A compilation of celebrity recipes with the recipes attributed to the famous including: Gertrude Stein John Steinbeck Walt Disney J. Edgar Hoover Rube Goldberg and many others. Also includes a section of recipes of well-known chefs of the day with a bias toward California Hotels and the west in general as well as a short section of recipes from the Hotel Del Monte. The playful illustrations by Sinclair Ross alternately reference Hollywood and the frontier West. Endpapers reproduce the autographs of many of the celebrities featured in the book. Publisher's gilt-decorated cream-colored boards near fine. In clean and bright yellow dust jacket printed in blue and orange but with several good-sized chips to the front and rear panels. 18909319Boston: Robinson Engraving Co 1890. Menu in painted wooden boards bound with cord 20 x 15.2 cm. 10 gold-printed leaves each a die-cut circle printed versos only. An elaborate program of events for the eleventh annual meeting of the Hotel Men's Mutual Benefit Association held in May 1890 at Boston's great hotels the Parker House Hotel Vendome and American House. The H.M.M.B.A. was founded in 1879 to offer hotel workers insurance plans; it was later to become the Bankers Life and Casualty Company. The program and menu for the three-day meeting includes the meeting itself music speakers presentations carriage excursions etc. The painted wooden boards hold die-cut 'booklets' dedicated to the Convention headquartered at the Parker House the Eleventh Annual Banquet held at the American House and the Reception held at the Hotel Vendome. The boards are scored and textured painted in silver with gold spots and hold a hand-lettered piece of 'vellum'. Some rubbing to edges of boards otherwise very good. Robinson Engraving Co hardcover

Altersentsprechend guter Zustand. Die historische und überaus bürgerliche Einladungskarte aus dem Jahr 1885 gab die Hochzeit der Familien Hennig und Schulze bekannt. Polterabend und festliches Mittagsmahl nach der Trauung sollten am 26. März 1885 im Hotel de Brandebourg Charlottenstraße 59 stattfinden. Nur ein Jahr später - im Sommer 1886 - wurde das alte Gebäude von 1781 abgerissen und durch einen Neubau der wilhelminischen Zeit ersetzt. Sehr seltenes Relikt aus dem bürgerlichen Berlin und Preussen in der Zeit vor 1900! unknown

The hotel opened in November 1926 and featured a grand ballroom dining room dance hall and conference rooms as well as the popular Drum Room bar and lounge. The Hotel was a popular venue for touring big bands and musicians and was a popular 'G.I' venue during WWII.<br /> <br /> Scarce.
