Hermann Aron 1845-1913 "Elektrophysiker und Industrieller studierte Naturwissenschaften in Berlin und Heidelberg war Assistent von Paalzow im physikalischen Kabinett der Gewerbeakademie Berlin promovierte 1873 und war seitdem Lehrer für Physik an der Vereinigten Artillerie- und Ingenieurschule in Berlin. An der dortigen Universität seit 1876 Privatdozent wurde er 1880 Professor. 1879 war er einer der Gründer des Elektrotechnischen Vereins. 1884 konstruierte er den auf dem Pendelprinzip beruhenden "Aron'schen Elektrizitätsmesser" einen der ersten praktisch brauchbaren Stromzähler. 1891 gab Aron die für Drehstrommessungen grundlegende Zweiwattmeterschaltung an. Zur Verwertung und Vervollkommnung seiner beiden Erfindungen gründete und leitete er die Aron-Werke Elektrizitäts GmbH jetzt: Heliowatt-Werke Berlin. First edition of this 8 volume collected works accompanied by a 2 volume autobiographical memoir Livs Erindringer og Resultater 1877. 10 volumes in all matching 3/4 black kid leather with marbled boards. Chip to the top corner of spine on volume 7 else the set is very good. Meir Aron Goldschmidt 1819 – 1887 was a Danish publisher journalist and novelist. He was the notorious founding editor of the political magazine Corsaren a Danish satirical paper that lampooned everyone of notable standing. Corsaren played an pivotal role in the life of Søren Kierkegaard to the point that Kierkegaard could divide his life into a before and after "the Corsair Affair". Graduating with a degree in philology in 1836 Goldschmidt's meeting with classical Greek culture changed much of his attitude and made him try to balance between Jewish and non-Jewish thoughts. Especially the Greek idea of Nemesis impressed him and imbued much of his later works and the polarizing polemical of literary and cultural Denmark of his time. Volume 2 of his "Life Memories and Achievements" is a historical and philological saunter through time with Nemesis the goddess of personified retribution for the sin of hubris. Volume 1 chapters V. and IX discuss Moller and Kierkegaard and the satirical skewering of S.K.'s appearance voice and habits. This famed French siddur Jewish prayer book was originally created and compiled by chief Rabbi of Strasbourg Arnaud Aron 1807-1890. It consists of a combination of tradition Jewish prayers for use throughout the year including weekdays sabbath festivals and holidays with some original devotional works created by Aron himself. The work received editorial assistance from French-Jewish writer educator and politician Jonas Ennery 1801-1863 and the first edition was originally published in 1848 in Strasbourg and Paris. Includes an approbation from French Jewish scholar and Rabbi Marchand Ennery brother of Jonas. The final sections contain appendices a section of prayers for married women and a table of contents.<br /> <br /> Text throughout in French with sporadic Hebrew.<br /> <br /> Binding with minor rubbing to corners.
