This work traces the end of Napoleon's life with his failure at the Battle of Waterloo his exile to the island of Sainte-Helene where he died in 1821. Written by twentieth-century novelist and historian Octave Aubry who specialised in biographical works of French leaders which included Louis XVII and Napoleon III in addition to Napoleon Bonaparte. Handsomely bound in quarter morocco with marbled boards and gilt detailing to the spine. Externally very smart with just a small amount of shelf wear and some discolouration to the morocco on the boards. Internally firmly bound. A few spots to the fore-edge not affecting the pages which remain bright and clean. Very Good Flammarion hardcover
