19946'Temple London Friday morn.' No date: written between 1841 and 1843 when Hood was editor of Colburn's 'New Monthly Magazine'. . 1p. 4to. In fair condition on aged and worn paper with fraying to outer edges. The leaf addressed on the reverse 'Mr Hood.' and docketed by Hood 'E DuBois'. He writes that he has been expecting Hood 'since Wednesday when you promised to call but I suppose you have been better employed in the press of business at the end of the Month - and I am glad of it.' He has 'drawn out' what he thinks 'will make several droll engravings': 'Perhaps you would do well to let me talk to your Artist - If you think so send him thither and we'll knock our heads together.' In a postscript he asks Hood to let him have his 'Tour of the Rhine' i.e. 'Up the Rhine' 1840. For information on Dubois an interesting and neglected figure see his entry in the Oxford DNB.
