Complete in two volumes. Being the first and second series. New edition. Illustrated throughout with a portrait frontispiece to volume one. A collection of writings from Hood's comic annual the production of which he undertook and continued almost unassisted for several years. This collection contains former runnings of his comic vein with titles such as: The Pugsley Papers An Ancient Concert The Last Shilling Ode to M. Brunel and Over the Way amongst others. Written by Thomas Hood an English poet author and humorist best known for poems such as "The Bridge of Sighs" and "The Song of the Shirt". Bound in half crushed morocco with marbled boards. Externally smart with rubbing to the extremities and the odd small mark to the boards. Internally firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting predominantly to the first and last few pages. Very Good E. Moxon, Son, & Company hardcover
