The Klemperer diaries are widely recognised as one of the most important personal records of the Nazi era. The third volume chronicles the rise of communist East Germany and the re-emergence of many former Nazis in capitalist West Germany. Klemperer died in 1960. The set comprises Vol I: I Shall Bear Witness 1933-1941 (1998); Vol. II: To the Bitter End 1942-1945 (1999); Vol. III: The Lesser Evil: 1945-1959 (2003). COMPLETE SETS ARE VERY SCARCE, ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION.

Felix Kersten was personal physician to Himmler and close to many of the Nazi leadership and these journals of meetings and conversations, the majority written on the spot, make fascinating reading. Towards the end of the war he was responsible for saving many thousands of Dutchmen, Germans, Norwegians, Danes and Jews from his employer's clutches. Very scarce in this condition, especially in the dustwrapper. Enser, p.266.
