1953008693London England: The Trustees of the British Museum 1953. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. This is a French language edition with auxiliary text in Chinese plus a 2-page preface in English. Presumed first printing of the first edition thus. Printed and bound in Great Britain by Percy Lund Humphries & Co. 12.5 x 10 inches. Bound in wine red buckram boards with fairly crisp gilt-stamped lettering to the spine. Generally unbumped spine head and tail and with impressively sharp corners. Text block firmly bound in. With xii and 268 numbered pages of text plus unnumbered pages of 40 XL duotone plates. An impressively clean interior. No demerits noticed. A Very Good copy. 4 lbs. 10 oz. weight. This book describes the numerous artefacts discovered by Sir Aurel Stein on his third expedition through Central Asia 1913-1915.

The Trustees of the British Museum hardcover
