Boards have heavy shelf-wear present to the extremities spine ends are chipped and heavily worn. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. The Dutch Boy is famous internationally as the logo for Dutch Boy Paint manufactured by the National Lead Comapny. It was rare to find any popular magazine in the first half of the twentieth century that did not have at least one ad for Dutch Boy Paint. Many people do not know that the Dutch Boy had his own magazine but he did indeed . And an interesting little periodical it was. Starting around 1908 The Dutch Boy Painter continued to be published until 1949 EB; 8vo 8" - 9" tall . hardcover

The advice extends well beyond the subject of paint colors to include such topics as exterior landscaping. Above all else though the booklet is a well-written "primer" on paint its purposes its make-up its costs etc. Small corner bump to front and back cover with matching crease to corner of leaves within.
