Alla prima carta, dedica autografa di Antonio Brures ad Ada Negri che identifica l'esemplare, come appartenuto alla celebre poetessa e scrittrice, Ada Negri (Lodi, 3 febbraio 1870 - Milano, 11 gennaio 1945) prima ed unica donna ed essere accolta all'Accademia d'Italia. Una leggera traccia di sporco al piatto anteriore ma nel complesso in buone condizioni di conservazione e arricchita da interessantissima provenienza. Prima edizione di questa importante opera del noto letterato e filosofo bolognese di origine belga, (Bologna 1887 - Roma 1954). L'autore fu vicecancelliere dell'Accademia d'Italia e segretario della Fondazione del Vittoriale. Pur dedicandosi principalmente agli studi dannunziani, Bruers scrisse varie opere di approfondimento filosofico particolarmente incentrate sugli studi mistici e spiritualisti. "Per il B. l'incontro col Marzorati e con la "ricerca psichica" fu in certo modo decisivo: redattore capo della rivista dal 1908 al novembre del 1931, direttore dal dicembre del '31 al giugno del '34, seguì partecipe per ventisei anni un tipo di produzione a dir poco singolare, riconoscendo nel Marzorati il "maestro" di cui traccerà alla morte un commosso ricordo. Lo "spiritismo" venne a costituire lo sfondo del suo pensiero di autodidatta, giustificando un nebuloso "spiritualismo" che ammetteva, col Marzorati, il Dio uno e trino, Gesù Cristo, e i fenomeni medianici come tramite col mondo degli "spiriti". Il B. credette di trovare così gli argomenti per superare idealismo e materialismo, razionalismo e immanentismo, e le antinomie di scienza e fede. Da quell'angolo visuale non solo studiò la magia di Campanella ma perfino la poesia di D'Annunzio ... Riunì la fitta collaborazione alla rivista nel volume La ricerca psichica (Bologna 1941), che è dei suoi più caratteristici, anche se appare ormai come il prodotto fuori tempo di un clima diffuso, e non solo in Italia, prima del 1914, che in parte la guerra spazzò via, ma che aveva sedotto anche logici rigorosi come Vailati.". Esemplare in buono stato di conservazione, con dedica autografa ed appartenuto ad Ada Negri.
