Rumi erkannte die Liebe insbesondere die zu Gott als die Haupttriebfeder des Universums die ihn zu einem an Gedankenreichtum überquellenden Werk inspirierte. 197134335Naval Station Washington DC: March 1971. 1971. Very good. - Original color photograph 9-1/2 inches high by 7-1/2 inches wide mounted on a sheet of heavy white board approximately 13 inches high by 9-1/2 inches wide. Boldly inscribed in black ink below the photo and signed "W. F. Bringle / Admiral US Navy". There is some minor soiling to the mount & its corners are slightly bumped. Near fine
The photograph was taken at the Naval Photographic Center Naval Station Washington DC and shows Bringle at waist length in full uniform with numerous medals.
The inscription reads: "Honorable Seymour Halpern - / With very best wishes and respect / W. F. Bringle / Admiral US Navy".
Admiral William Floyd Bringle USN 1913-1999 was the first commanding officer of USS Kitty Hawk. During the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1970 he was Commander U.S. Seventh Fleet as a Vice Admiral. From 1971 to 1973 as a four star admiral he was Commander U.S. Naval Forces in Europe.
The Queens New York Republican Congressman Seymour Halpern 1913-1997 started his political career as a campaign aide to New York's powerful mayor Fiorella La Guardia and first served in New York's State Senate for 14 years before seeking a seat in the U.S. Congress. In Albany Halpern sponsored 279 bills that became law including measures on schools housing civil rights nutrition and mental health. A Liberal he was something of an anomaly as the lone Republican representative from New York City and generally garnered support from Labor Unions and endorsement from the Liberal Party. Yet he never even considered switching parties as he considered membership in the Republican Party a family tradition and commitment. While he found ample time for his private pursuits including painting and collecting autographs he took his legislative duties very seriously. Of these he was proudest of his co-sponsorship of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and of the original 1965 Medicare legislation. Naval Station, Washington, DC: March 1971. unknown

Tan/gray boards with black text tipped in color illustrations on both front and back. 309 pp. Many color illustrations and one folded map. "The exhibition 1924 : Other Surrealisms comes to Spain with the intention of analyzing the reception and influence of surrealism in our country and offering a new perspective on the movement in a place that in the 1920s and 1930s was on the periphery of the European avant-garde. To this end the exhibition not only focuses on the work of some of the great representatives of this trend at both national and international levels including Salvador Dalí Óscar Domínguez Joan Miró and René Magritte but also places special emphasis on the work of other less famous creators who worked outside the dominant discourse in Spain and Latin America and also highlights the contribution of women to the group."
