We are aware of at least one catalog produced by the company on the market as of this writing. A quick web search turns up advertisements for the company from 1887 through 1916.<br/><br/>Trade show photographs tend to be fairly scarce and are excellent supplements to trade catalogues which are often only illustrated with cuts or half tones. Alan Alda in his first starring role plays Plimpton who has put himself into the sports arena writing about his experiences. He's entered the ring with a professional boxer and pitched in an All-Star game. He decides to try his hand at being the quarterback of a professional football team and he gets his opportunity with the Detroit Lions. While everyone involved agrees to keep his secret feigning time spent as a semi-pro in Canada it soon becomes clear that he is clueless on the field. The invitation is in two single sheets each measuring 3 3/4†x 9†with the top portion’s ‘Star Trek’ lettering cut out so that the silver lettering of the second sheet shines through. Includes the original envelope. In fine condition. Star Trek was directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine as James T. Kirk Zachary Quinto as Spock Karl Urban as Bones Zoe Saldana as Uhura Simon Pegg as Scotty John Cho as Sulu Anton Yelchin as Chekov and Bruce Greenwood as Pike. 1944141117Los Angeles: Twentieth Century-Fox 1944. Two vintage studio still photographs from the 1944 film. Nominated for three Academy Awards. Based on John Steinbeck 1943 novella of the same name. Reference numbers are 619-53 black-and-white stamped on verso as "KEY SET" and 619-70 sepia apparently mounted for internal use. <br/><br/>The film follows a group of survivors stranded on a lifeboat following an attack on their merchant ship. Tensions are high as the group negotiates food rations and tries to plot a course to land or rescue. The film is the first in Hitchcock's "limited-setting" fims followed by "Rope" Dial M for Murder" and "Rear Window." Steinbeck who wrote the novella for the film was aggravated by the changes made to his work specifically to an African American character who he felt had been transformed into a grotesque caricature. <br/><br/>Shot on location in Florida and California. <br/><br/>8 x 10 inches. Vintage "California Stage Review" program for the Westwood Playhouse production of "Jon Hendricks' Evolution of the Blues" with three black and white photographs housed in the original envelope circa 1978. Laid in program is a 6.5 x 5.5 inch flyer for the Coronet Theatre's production of "Bullshot Drummond." <br/><br/>Jon Hendricks first created his masterwork "Evolution of the Blues Song" later amended to "Evolution of the Blues" for the 1960 Monterey Jazz Festival. An ambitious survey of African American music from spirituals and field hollers to blues gospel and jazz Hendricks interspersed his own compositions with classics such as Ma Rainey's "See See Rider" and Big Bill Broonzy's "Sun Gonna Shine in My Door" along with standards "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" "New Orleans" and "Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child." Acclaimed musicians and singers such as Jimmy Witherspoon Hannah Dean "Big" Miller Ben Webster and Pony Poindexter were enlisted for the performance and in 1961 Columbia Records released the acclaimed LP of the project. <br/><br/>In the 1970s Hendricks restaged the production at the Broadway Theatre in San Francisco where it ran for an unprecedented five years and in 1978 and 1979 at the Los Angeles' Westword Playhouse featuring performers Ka-Ron Brown Rosalind Cash Gary Chapman and others with co-direction and choreography by Donald McKayle.<br/><br/>Program 8.5 x 11 inches.
