In this drawing little Ann and an older woman are cooking breakfast over an outdoor fire near their California shanty town. Record of shooting partridge pheasant hare pigeon and the occasional woodcock; with notes of ferreting and a few seasons' salmon fishing covering sport on several Scottish estates: Charlesfield Gask Auchterader Perthshire 1889-1899; Strobhall Perthshire 1900-1902; and Bachilton Perthshire 1889-1902.<br /> <br /> The total bag was nearly 3000 including 1267 partridge 863 pheasants 232 hares and 275 rabbits. Kept in a meticulous hand identifying members of the shooting parties places and occasional remarks on weather and conditions. There is a separate record of pheasants reared and shot at Gask and Stobhall at end.<br /> <br /> A single page records salmon and grilse taken at a dozen pools on an unidentified stretch of river the Earn near Gask perhaps in seven seasons.<br /> <br /> Signed by Ernest Moon on verso of flyleaf. 19060137971906. Print. Sepia-toned silver gelatin print of a Karl Moon photograph on canvas board signed and dated by Moon. Item is in very good condition but has not been examined out of shrink wrap. Print has light wear to all edges and the top right corner is missing a small piece of the board behind the canvas. Print measures 14" by 17 1/2" and depicts a rider on horseback in a desert landscape. Karl Moon has signed the print in the lower left corner in black ink. Karl Moon was a painter photographer and illustrator who operated a photo studio in Albuquerque New Mexico until 1907 and made pictorial studies of Native Americans in the region. Compiled by photographer Patti Perret in 1984 through BlueJay Press as a photo-essay collection of 100 modern fantasy authors with each author given a 2 page spread for a personally penned essay and a photo taken by Perret. <br /> <br /> First Edition First Printing with complete number line signed by 14 of the writers. In collectible condition with seemingly no signs of wear to either the complete dust jacket save for a touch of shelf wear to the head of the DJ or the book itself. Even the cream-colored hardcover boards appear new and without any smudging or discoloration; a feat for a book this many decades old and handled by so many hands for signatures. Issue of the important NAACP magazine founded by W.E.B. Du Bois published the month of Dr. King's assassination. Given the fact that they had almost no time to prepare this issue prints a memorial cover portrait an editorial titled "The Martyrdom of Martin Luther King Jr." and "NAACP mourns loss of Dr. King" in the "Battlefront section" alongside several articles that must have already been slated for publication. The intrepid B.T. Enterprises of Cleveland Ohio has also taken out a half-page ad selling memorial medals honoring Dr. King. <br /> <br /> This issue was mailed to Warren Morgan of Baltimore a civil rights activist who was also sadly the victim of racial violence: according to a March 1964 article in The New York Times Morgan at that time the head of Students Action for Equality at Maryland State College and six other African-American students were invited by the pastor to Easter Service at a White Methodist church and three of them were attacked after the service by a dozen young White men. Warren was hospitalized with a fractured cheekbone. Warren would go on to receive his doctorate at Oklahoma State University and work as the Vice President of Student Affairs at Florida A&M University and Dean of Student Affairs at Benedict College among others.
