Questo è un libro che intende soprattutto basarsi sui dati oggettivi della storia e raccontare alcuni aspetti della città subalpina che spesso sono guardati senza tener conto della realtà, ma lasciandosi esclusivamente trascinare dal mito. Nel libro si cerca di raccontare obiettivamente fatti, luoghi e figure in cui quel complesso che definiamo genericamente "mistero", ha trovato il modo per entrare, spintonando qua e là, nella storia. Senza pretendere di avere la verità in tasca, ma con la precisa consapevolezza che quasi sempre è possibile separare la realtà dalla fantasia, l'autore analizza una serie di fatti tipici della mitologia che contrassegna la cosiddetta "Torino magica". Si parla naturalmente del diavolo, indagando sugli aspetti che hanno contribuito a fare del capoluogo del Piemonte la sua presunta "capitale": per capire qualcosa sull'origine di questa scelta ci si avvale soprattutto della sociologia, lasciando a latere aspetti legati al satanismo, messe nere, patti diabolici...

Il testo fondamentale al quale il Guaccio si ispirò fu il Malleus maleficarum del terribile monaco domenicano Jacob Sprenger, mandato da Innocenzo VIII in Germania nel 1489 ad affermarvi la potenza del Tribunale dell'Inquisizione, in nome di Roma. Altra fonte dell'opera è la Disquisitiones magicae del gesuita Martin del Rio, pubblicato nel 1589, che si distingue rispetto all'altro per un maggior buon senso e un invito alla moderazione nell'uso, allora insostituibile, della tortura. La posizione del Guaccio sembra porsi a metà strada tra quelle dei suoi maestri. La lettura del libro può oggi offrire un quadro abbastanza esatto e preciso del modo in cui allora si ponevano queste questioni.

Links signiert.- Unlike a mass production studio at Studio Demon each artist was allowed to personalize his work while still creating the images the studio required. Each painting was created by one artist and each artist was allowed to sign the work. The work the artists produced are thus typically of very high quality. Arthur Hayrapetian was the founder of the famous "Demon Studios"--also referred to as "Hayrapetian Studios"--which was located at GIV passage at Naderi Avenue in front of the Naderi Hotel in Tehran . Hayrapetian began his art studies at age 14 and named the studio after one of his beloved professors. Studio Demon was a small art studio in that produced watercolors which were then sold in various shops in Iran and also by street vendors. Some of the more well known artists to come out of Studio Demon have been artists such as: B. Ahmari A. Vartavian of course the Founder R.A Hayrapetian A . Svarchian S. Melkonian and R. Al frontis marca tipografica con il motto "Festina Lente" all' inizio piccolo capolettera figurato a fondo nero, piccoli fregi ed legante carattere rotondo minuscolo. Opera rara, curiosa e varie volte ristampata come riferisce Graesse. Elenca in 134 capitoli vari vizi e facoltà umane e ne commenta i contenuti: Demonio, angeli, matrimonio, idolatria, spiriti, omicidio, lussuria, morte ecc. Manca a tutta la bibliografia consultata compreso Adams, Bm. Stc. German, Choix, Brunet e vari cataloghi di religione come Rosenthal n° 202 e Olschki Cat. 157 "Theology". Solo Graesse elenca 4 edizioni, la più antica del 1533 ma non siamo riusciti a determinare quale fosse la prima edizione. Alcune carte con fori di tarlo ben restaurati, frontis con antica firma cassata, ipercettibili tracce di alone ma esemplare bello nitido e genuino. Secondo il Census Iccu Sbn. questa edizione di Colonia non è posseduta da nessuna biblioteca italiana. Cfr. Graesse III 206 per altre edizioni.[f52] Libro
