brossura L'apprendimento per problemi (o PBL - come si dice con un acronimo), introdotto alla fine degli anni Sessanta in Canada, è una metodologia che ha spinto il corpo docente a passare da una didattica per trasmissione a una didattica attiva basata per l'appunto su forme di apprendimento in cui lo studente è chiamato a risolvere piccoli problemi in gruppi condotti da tutor sin dal primo mese di corso di laurea. Il docente cambia funzioni e diventa un pianificatore, un facilitatore, un tutor metacognitivo, un esercitatore e un valutatore. Gli studenti sono suddivisi in piccoli gruppi e, condotti dal tutor, imparano per scoperta discutendo problemi presi dalla vita reale, individuando essi stessi gli argomenti di studio emersi dalla discussione e studiando in modo auto-diretto e indipendente. Attraverso la voce dei docenti e degli studenti, questo libro, nella prima parte, illustra la storia e le caratteristiche di questo metodo. La seconda parte riporta, invece, una sperimentazione didattica realizzata presso il Corso di laurea in Scienze della Formazione continua dell'Università di Foggia, diventata per un mese un laboratorio sull'innovazione didattica universitaria. La sperimentazione ha visto l'introduzione di nuove metodologie formative che dimostrano innegabili vantaggi: interdisciplinarietà, ridotta dispersione scolastica, studenti protagonisti, docenti facilitatori, esami integrati, didattica attraente e stimolante.
