1905005060London: No Publisher 1905. Printed tissue approximately 360mm x 365mm in size no publisher. A few spots of foxing lightly creased a few small holes but generally fairly clean printing flaw to bottom right hand corner but without loss of sense. Tissue for the Lord Mayor's show with a car representing the Entente Cordiale one representing Peace and one representing the Colonies. The Lord Mayor was Walter Vaughan Morgan a banker. The tissues were generally imported from Japan pre-printed with decorative borders with the central portion left blank to be filled in with the event to be commemorated. This example doesn't really fit the usual pattern of a Burgess production so was perhaps produced elsewhere. Not in Library Hub but the Bodleian has a copy. First Edition. Unbound. Good. Folio. Tissue. No Publisher Paperback
1907005061London: Mrs S. Burgess 1907. Printed tissue approximately 370mm x 375mm in size. A couple of spots of foxing lightly creased small tear to right hand margin otherwise fairly bright. Tissue for the Lord Mayor's show participants included the City Boys' Shooting Club the Freeman's Orphan School the maids of honour and a procession representing the English kings with each monarch attended by the "most prominent men of his reign". The Lord Mayor was Sir George Truscott who was a businessman and whose father had also been Lord Mayor. The tissues were imported from Japan pre-printed with decorative borders with the central portion left blank to be filled in with the event to be commemorated. These were often poorly printed by Mrs. S.arah Burgess who printed many of these items. They were then sold generally for a penny at the events as souvenirs. Not in Library Hub but the Bodleian has a copy. First Edition. Unbound. Good. Folio. Tissue. Mrs S. Burgess Paperback
