Gage has included a number of font alphabets including wide-pen alphabet Roman capitals lower case alphabets and card layouts. Of particular interest are the colour lithograph plates showing all of the different Carter’s ink colours ink jars pastes and advertising. Founded originally in 1858 in Boston Carter’s Ink Company was producing millions of bottles of inks by the end of the 19th-century and their products included tempera show card colors and managed to survive up until 1975 when it was purchased by the Dennison Company.
