Out of a total numbered edition of 1000 this is one of 800 ''sur verg� d'Arches''. Satirical verse by an anarchist who in 1894 was injured in the so-called Foyot bombing around which various theories as to responsibility have arisen; he himself was not the perpetrator but possibly the intended target. Albert Gleizes (Paris 1881 - Avignon 1953) fut l’un des fondateurs du cubisme. Avant la guerre de 14 il fut un des principaux exposants des salins qui révélèrent les cubistes. En 1915 il s’installa à New York où il retrouve Duchamp et Picabia. Il revint en France en 1919 et crée en 1927 la résidence d’artistes Moly-Sabata près de la maison où il résidait dans l’Isère. En 1930, il en confia la gestion à Anne Dangar, une de ses disciples et se retira à St-Rémy-de-Provence. Très influencé par l’œuvre de René Guénon, il s’intéressera à l’art sacré et se convertira au catholicisme en 1941. Ce livre est fortement influencé par Guénon : “Un petit nombre d’intellectuels purs, étonnamment inspirés, on su retrouver la vraie tradition de l’homme. Un des plus grands à mon sens, est incontestablement René Guénon.
