C'est un succès auprès du public et de la critique. PourtantPierre Tilman s'écarte et s'éloigne silencieusement de la poésie qui fait partie de la littérature. Il est de plusen plus un écrivain sans papier artiste compositeur poète de l'écriture du langage des images. Les motsde la poésie sortent du format du livre pour aller dans l'espace réel celui des murs et de la rue. Il utilise dessupports et des médiums variés la photo la vidéo.S'il lit ses poèmes en public et participe à des festivals de poésie en compagnie de musiciens et d'artistessonores Julien Blaine Serge Pey Patrick Dubost il est surtout un poète visuel.Après la revue Chorus il a fondé L'évidence avec Marie-Hélène Dumas en 1993.Il a écrit des articles Opus le Magazine littéraire la Quinzaine littéraire Art press et des livres sur desartistes tels que Erro Monory Filliou.Il fait quand même beaucoup de choses même s'il a l'impression de ne rien faire même s'il est attiré parl'anonymat et la disparition de la signature. Il ne se presse pas se met volontiers hors catégorie horssélection et semble gravement dénué de l'ego de la compétition.Professeur à l'école d'art d'Avignon. Artiste invité intervenant à l'École nationale supérieure des beaux-artsde Paris en 1998-1999.
