Notice de 8 pages de texte par Félix Crozet imprimé sur deux colonnes 36 lithographies imprimées en noir à pleine page d'après les dessins de Jean-Jacques Champin et gravées par Arnout Cuvillier Jacottet Tirpenne Villeneuve Hostein Joly Sorrieu et une carte dessinée et lithographiée par Champin intitulée Position topographique de la Grande Chartreuse qui localise par un numéro chacune des 36 lithographies du livre. Jean-Jacques Champin était fils du maire de Sceaux. Dès 1815 il s'intéresse à un art encore nouveau la lithographie inventée en 1798 et produit ainsi en 1816 sa première lithographie L'Église de Sceaux. Élève de Félix Storelli et de Jacques Auguste Regnier admirateur de Jean-Victor Bertin Champin se consacre principalement aux paysages historiques. Il entreprend à cette fin des voyages depuis la visite de la Grande Chartreuse en 1823 les Pyrénées en 1825 et ensuite jusqu'à l'Italie en 1830. Notre exemplaire est offert par Le Rnd. Pre.
