B. contemporary ink initials in the upper right corner of each plate<br/> <br/>A fine large-scale series of hand-coloured plates exhibiting Debucourt and Vernet's mastery of the genre print.<br/> <br/>The series consists of four views of scenes glimpsed "on the road." As usual with Vernet the human figures are slightly caricatured whilst the horses in three of the prints are beautifully observed. The plates are titled: Les Aveugles The Beggars. Fenaille 407; Route de St. Cloud The St. Cloud Road. Fenaille 405; Route de Poissy The Poissy Road. Fenaille 404; and Route de Poste The Post Road. Fenaille 406.
