Lacking volume II.Volume I is illustrated with eighty-one plates including double plates and one plate in colour.Volume III is illustrated with ninety-eight plates including fifteen plates in colour some of which are double plates.Volume IV is illustrated with one hundred and five plates including a number in colour and double plates.Collated with all illustrations present.From Birmingham School of Arts and Crafts library.This work would lend itself to a fresh rebind. Disbound; in a quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Boards are all loose but present with a library sticker to the tail of the front board and rubbing to the boards. Library stamps throughout with a library bookplate to the front pastedown. Pages are a little worn to the edges and a touch age-toned. Each plate has a library stamp to the verso. Very light wear to extremities. Ex-libris (Erik Scavenius, Danish prime minister) pasted on to pasted down front end-papers. Two index-leaves in contemporary hand bound in the front of all four volumes. Light occassional brownspotting throughout.
