8vo., First Edition, with a fine coloured frontispiece and 7 plates tinted in sepia; original regimental green cloth, boards with double blind frame borders, upper board blocked in gilt with regimental crest, uncut, neatly rebacked with original backstrip gilt laid down, original endpapers preserved, a very good, clean, firm copy. With errata leaf at end. The coloured frontispiece depicts the colours; the plates include two of uniform and two of regiment badges. Extensive appendices detail succession of officers, alphabetical roll of officers, bases, annual enrolled strengths 1758-1875 and much other information. Includes records of First West York Supplementary Regiment from 1797-1799. In 1881 the unit was redesignated 3 Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment. Sutcliffe, p.360; White, p.156.
