423224Liklik Buk Information Centre. Paperback. Good. THERE ARE NO TARIFFS OR CUSTOMS DUTIES ON BOOKS. The Purpose of Liklik Buk Finding and evaluating answers to specific questions is a difficult sometimes hopeless task for a person even a competent person who has no library no telephone few everyday professional associates and very irregular mail service. At the same time many of those persons in PNG who have the greatest wealth of technical information and experience in rural development have been "promoted" out of rural life into desk-bound administrative jobs. Liklik Buk is a way to give easier access to information sources and to stimulate more dissemination of the expertise available. It is patterned somewhat after the approach used by The Whole Earth Catalogue in the United States though the finished book is of course quite different. A key part of this concept is that the materials are to be updated more or less continuously through the written responses of the readers. It is a big job of course but basically Liklik Buk is designed to be self-supporting self-revising self-updating just as Rural Development ought to be. New English Original bdg. HC. Cr. 8vo. (20 x 14 cm). Edition in English. 95 p., ills. Christianity fundamental teachings. This book is a landmark in inter-church efforts to draw closer together. It was written by a commission delegated by leaders of all of the major churches of Turkey. This commission, which met at regular intervals, decided to publish a basic book containing the doctrines of faith held in common by all Christian churches. This joint publication, which will help every Christian in Turkey to understand their own faith doctrines, but also for the striking and seminal advance in mutual respect and affection that it represents. The faith doctrines summarized in this book can already be found in each church's books on faith and doctrine. Yet for churches that have ostracized each other for centuries leaving a legacy of deep divisions and resentments to sign their names to such a work is no small step toward church unity. Through this book the churches that have maintained their presence in Istanbul express in lasting words how few points of difference they have in their beliefs and how many of the same values and teachings they share on the essentials of their faith.
