Considerable wear to the covers with the front joint starting and loss to the head of the spine although the binding remains solid. An early collector's pencil note to the front endpaper reads "Very Scarce: An exact reprint of the first book published in Connecticut". The rear endpaper bears the bookplate of the collector George E. Sears and a clipping of a catalog description of the work. Negotations over the presidency of Mexico between Potasio Tagle Porfirio Diaz' Secretary of the Interior and José María Iglesias 1823-1891 president of the Supreme Court and self declared President broke down over the Iglesias' refusal to recognize the Plan de Tuxtepec which had been proclaimed by Díaz when he had risen up against Mexican President Lerdo whose presidency earlier has been nullified by Iglesias in his judicial capacity as President of the Mexican Supreme Court. Eventually Díaz defeated Iglesias who fled to the United States. None located at auction and OCLC locates only 8 copies: NYPL Yale UC Berkeley Univ. Texas at Austin El Paso and Arlington Ibero_Amer.
