Einzelne von mir gelieferte Blätter können nicht ausgefaltet werden da ich meine ganze Kraft einsetzen würde das ganze zu einem künstlerischen Werke zu gestalten von künstlerischem Werte. Die farbigen Vollbilder bleiben in meinem Besitze und es geht nur das Reproductionsrecht in Ihr Eigentum über. Born In Springfield Ohio Conway Griffith1863-1924 Is Known For Landscape And Some Marine Painting. He Was Raised In A Cultured Family And Both He And His Brother Armand Harrold Conway Became Recognized Artists. At Age 17 Conway Went To New York City And Became A Student Of William Merritt Chase And Wayne Gifford And Then For Several Years He Taught A Special Method Of China Painting On The Faculty At The Cincinnati School Of Design. However Problems With His Health Took Him West In The 1890S. In Denver Where He Lived On A Cattle Ranch He Studied Landscape Painting And Also Made Trips To Mexico And California In 1898 Moving To Southern California Permanently In 1904. He First Lived On Catalina Island Later Moving To Laguna Beach Where He Was A Member Of The Laguna Beach Art Association. Exhibition At The Steckel Gallery In 1912. John Clark "Jack" Okey June 3 1889 - January 8 1963 Was An American Art Director. He Was Raised In Los Angeles And Attended The Harvard School For Boys. After Leaving He Was Given Instruction In Art By His Uncle The California Artist J. Bond Francisco. While He Was In His Early 20S He Traveled To Paris With His Friend Stanton Macdonald Wright And Spent Several Years There Studying Art. Around The Time Of His Marriage In 1913 He Became Involved In The Nascent Film Industry In The Los Angeles Area And Was Involved In The Design And Construction Of Some Of The Earliest Studios There. He Continued In The Film Industry As An Art Director Until His Retirement In 1959. In The Mid-1930S He Spent Several Years In England Working For Alexander Korda Designing Studios For Him. After His Return To The United States He Spent The Remainder Of His Active Career Working For Rko. He Was Nominated For Two Academy Awards For Art Direction 1929 And 1944 But His Best Known Film Is "It'S A Wonderful Life". <br/> <br/> unknown

Philadelphia All According To The Yellow Label Mounted On The Very Worn Black Backing. An Attractive Portrait Apparently Of Geirge Orwel Circa 1932L Leaning On His Left Hand And Staring Somewhat Belligerently But Resignedly At Viewer Left Hand Has Not Been Finished. This Appears To Be A Portrait Of A Younger Orwell Than Usually Seen Circa Early 1930'S An Intense Young Man With A Small Mustache Eyebrows Thinner And Higher Than Usually Seen But With His Distinctive Right Ear Present. The Portrait Is Not Clearly Orwell In The 1920'S Or 1940'S But Compares Favorably With The Few Early 1930'S Photographs Of Him That We Have Seen. He Adds On The Reverse The Title "The Burning Of Attila's Etzel's Fortress- The End Of The Nibelungs". The Board On Which It Is Drawn Has The Manufacturer's Information "Hi Art Illustration Board No. 61 Medium Weight Hot Pressed 30 X 40 Approved For Fluorographic Process". The Fluorographic Process Was Patented In 1938 So We Assume This Is A Later Hand-Inked Copy Of The Original 1924 Painting Done Circa 1965 By Estes For Forrest Ackerman.
