Son of Antoine Bourdelle, Pierre Bourdelle created this series of lithographs based on his experiences as a volunteer ambulance driver with the American Field Service in WWII, during which he served in the North African and Italian theatres. Comte Bernard de Perthuis de Laillevault, head of the house of Perthuis, served with the RAF during WWII before establishing a successful career as a painter of murals and other artwork. This is an about very good softcover copy with some wear. Completely clean inside and very clean outside, just light toning. Spine not creased, binding firm. Pages a little stiff, very soft curve to lower right corner. Text in French. 193 works in the exhibition. Many illustrated in black & white (about 80). Also illustrations in the ads at the end. Also tipped-in is the fold-out brochure for the Italian pavilion or section of the exhibition which featured Manzu. Texts by Jean Bouret and Denys Chevalier.10.5" high X 8" wide, 16 text and list pages + ads. This book will be securely packed and shipped with tracking.

Book is in excellent condition, as new with tiny indications of shelf wear to covers only. Binding is solid and square, covers have sharp corners, are creaseless, as is spine, exterior shows no blemishes, text/interior is clean and free of marking of any kind. 64 pages with large color prints of each artist listed, photos of curators and admin. personnel, shots of opening festivities. Artists include: Emile Antoine Bourdelle, Rodin, Matisse, Maillol, Marino Marini, Ouise Bourgeois, Lucio Fontana, Giacometti, David Smith, Pietro Consagra, Anthony Caro, Bryan Hunt, et al.
