The January 1897 to June 1897 volume was published in 1901 and contains sixty illustrations by very early state-of-the-art color photographs of birds with a guide to the study of bird life. These early photographs are actually quite striking. 225 pp. including index. The illustrations are color plates. The July 1897 to December 1897 volume was published in 1900 in a similar format 241 pp. Volume I has chipping top and bottom of spine spine faded front hinge open a few plates have moisture marks along the edge that do not affect image in good condition; volume II is a bit shaken with wear at spine tips in very good condition.
