This official introductory guide to Knossos was first written by John Pendlebury in 1934, reissued by Max Parrish 1954. This is a new and revised edition, with an Introduction by Sir John Myres and Sir John Forsdyke which sketches concisely and vividly the background of Minoan history, art and culture. He was Curator of the Site from 1929 to 1934.Like Ariadne's thread, his text guides the reader through the historical and architectural maze of this great Palace, tracing its growth from its foundation to the completion of the great complex of buildings in the fifteenth century B.C. and ending with a grand tour of the Palace and its dependencies (illustrated by many clear maps and plans). Sehr gute Exemplare. - 2 BÄNDE / (Unser Bild zeigt den illustr. Pappschuber mit der gedruckten Nummer: "2113"). - Italienisch und Englisch. - Arnaldo Pomodoro (* 23. … (wiki) // INHALT : Tomo I : Arnaldo Pomodoro Arnaldo Pomodoro Giovanni Carandente ----- Arnaldo Pomodoro e lo spazio architettonico Arnaldo Pomodoro and Architectural Space GiIlo Dorfles ----- Arnaldo nel labirinto delle scritture Arnaldo in thè Labyrinth of Scripts Arturo Carlo Quintavalle ----- Monumenti e anti-monumenti Monumenta and Anti-monuments Sani Hunter ----- Opere ----- Apparati ----- Avvertenze ----- Note to thè Reader ----- Bio-bibliografia ----- Biography // Tomo II : Catalogo ragionato delle opere.
