193512702Cleveland OH: Art in Bronze Company 1935. Near fine. Quarto. Printed folder with two large pockets and two smaller inset pockets to house loose leaves of advertising material for this Cleveland bronze manufacturer. Eight loose leaves of niceley printed sample designs cover a wide arrange of bronze plaques war or historical memorial markers grave markers and other fabrications. Condition is overall near fine with a few flattened corner creases. The sales kit is oriented towards retailers most of whom would presumably be mortuaries and cemeteries. Five blank orders forms are included as well as a form to receive a bronze window display which reads "Distinctive Memorials." Cleveland was and in fact remains a major locus of monument and sculpture design and fabrication with a number of century-old firms still in business to this day quite notably Rose Iron Works. While this specific sales kit seems not to be separately listed in OCLC a similar one from the same compay dated 1935 is retained by the Winterthur. Art in Bronze Company unknown

1920951Newark NJ: National Metalizing Company att. 1920. Near Fine. An uncommon and striking pair of bookends likely from the National Metalizing Company these bookends are large with the pair standing at 9.5 inches tall and 7 inches wide. What is striking with these examples is the rich patina and finish. These are a magnificent example of bronze-clad plaster bookends and these will certainly standout as an exceptional set of art deco library decor items. National Metalizing Company (att.) unknown
