Es ist der erste Bestandskatalog aus unserem Haus, und wir hoffen, daß viele weitere bald folgen werden, um wichtige Gruppen innerhalb unserer Sammlungen der Fachwelt wie anderen Interessierten im ganzen zugänglich zu machen. Habent sua fata libelli! Daß es gerade dieser Band ist, mit dem die Reihe der Bestandskataloge des Linden-Museums eröffnet wird, rührt daher, daß wir 1979 aus Privatbesitz eine Sammlung von 124 alt javanischen Metallobjekten erwerben konnten, die den Altbestand aufs beste ergänzte. Dazu kam, daß Frau Professor Dr. Johanna Engelberta van Lohuizen-de Leeuw diese Gruppe im Auftrag des Vorbesitzers zusammen mit ihrem damaligen Schüler, Herrn Jaap Polak, bereits bearbeitet und weithin für den Druck vorbereitet hatte. Auf unseren Vorschlag, nun einen Katalog unserer ganzen indojavanischen Bronzensammlung zu erarbeiten - also die Altbestände und einige noch dazugekommene Stücke in die vorliegende Arbeit einzubauen - ist Frau van Lohuizen-de Leeuw trotz vielfältiger anderer Arbeiten schnell eingegangen und hat Katalogteil wie Einleitung weithin abgeschlossen. … (Vorwort Fr.
