From the library of Rev'd Richard Hill his contemporary bookplate inside front board and his signature on title page. Pencil 'sketch' on frontis. After the young missionary David Brainerd died of tuberculosis at the Edwards home in 1748 Edwards read through Brainerd s manuscript diaries. Impressed he resolved to prepare them for the press. Exalting Brainerd s self-sacrificial faith in the cause of converting the heathen Edwards presented Brainerd as a concrete example of sainthood as laid out in Religious Affections. This scarce fine book presents very well and has only very isolated foxing spots to the front endpapers. It opens clean fresh and tightly. The very good jacket is unclipped and has a slight amount of rubbing and loss to the spine extremities and a small portion of the top edge.<br /> <br /> Showell Styles was a highly prolific author of children's adventure stories set mainly in a mountaineering context a pursuit in which he also excelled. He also wrote a series of non-fiction books on various mountaineering topics. Geoffrey Bles unknown

Riley became part of the Nuffield Organization in 1938 and was merged into the British Leyland Motor Corporation in 1968. In July 1969 British Leyland announced the immediate end of Riley production although 1969 was a difficult year for the UK automotive industry and many cars from Riley's inventory may have been first registered in 1970.
