Otherwise very clean and tidy. The jacket is very good a little creased to the top edge and a couple of spots to rear. This is the true first Gollancz edition not the much more common Children's Book Club edition which followed very shortly after.<br /> <br /> Showell Styles was a highly prolific author of children's adventure stories set mainly in a mountaineering context a pursuit in which he also excelled. He also wrote a series of non-fiction books on various mountaineering topics. Brockhampton unknown
