Journey with a Secret is a good ex library book in commensurate condition and is a second impression. The jacket is fine. A Tent on Top is a first impression in fine condition with like jacket.<br /> <br /> Showell Styles was a highly prolific author of children's adventure stories set mainly in a mountaineering context a pursuit in which he also excelled. A touch of very light wear to the boards at one or two extremities and the free endpapers and half-title very slightly toned. A very good copy in non-price-clipped pictorial dust wrapper lightly dust soiled at the predominantly white rear panel and with just a little edge-loss creasing and two quite short tears. The second of the author's three 'Abercrombie Lewker' adventure novels penned under his own name a further fifteen subsequent instalments appeared under his 'Glyn Carr' pseudonym. Uncommon. The jacket is also very good if a little creased and bumped to the extremities. Styles was a scout leader in north Wales and imbues his fiction with his lived experience. These books are all in very good condition with no marks or inscriptions no presentation plates and no foxing or tanning. They open cleanly and brightly appear very lightly read.
