Three page summary and list of plates in English. Illustrated in color and black & white. Monograph on the Russian Jewish artist Anatoly L'vovich Kaplan (1902-1980). Born in the Jewish settlement of Pale, in Russia, he lived all his life in Russia, dying in Leningrad in 1980. He concentrated on Jewish themes, illustrated Sholem Aleichem's books, also Gogol's Dead Souls. 9" square, 239 pages. This catalog was prepared to accompany the exhibition at the Whitestone Gallery in Tokyo in 2013. Tsuyoshi Maekawa (1936- ), is a Second Generation Gutai artist. He was included in the 8th Gutai Exhibition at the Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art in 1959, and became a protégé of the group's founder, Jiro Yoshihara. 50 color plates + several photographs, portraits of Tsuyoshi Maekawa.
