"In spite of recent well-publicized seizures of massive shipments of heroin from Southeast Asia, heroin continues to flood the country, spreading into every level of this society and shredding the fabric of everyday life. U.S. government estimates of the number of addicts has leaped from 315,000 in 1969 to over 560,000 in 1972. This book puts all the pieces of this ghastly puzzle together, and then maps the possible avenues out of the horror, suggesting that America may have to choose between our commitments in Southeast Asia and getting heroin out of our high schools." - from dust jacket. 151 pages. Artist Robin Wood met Anne McCaffrey at the first totally Pern-oriented convention in the U.S. in 1984. However, prior to that, Robin had designed and executed portraits of Pern characters for the Mayfair Games board game, Dragonriders of Pern. In the ensuing conversation about what the characters from the Pern books really looked like, this book was conceived. Four years of work followed, with Robin and Anne comparing notes at conventions, discussing details of Pern and its people, passing letters and sketches across the Atlantic and arriving at mutually satisfactory conclusions. This represents the first, authentic look at the people of Pern, a collaboration of the finest kind between two of the finest artists available today. Very attractively illustrated glossy dust jacket in wonderful condition with minimal signs of rubbing at top and bottom edges and 3/4" tear to top of back panel. Book could pass as new. A superior copy of this enchanting work. Book

188 pages. "Not all historians will agree with Dr. Mahathir's interpretation of events, historic and recent, in Malaysia and Singapore. This is certain to be a controversial book, and assuredly the author will be called upon to defend many of his statements and claims, indeed even perhaps the accuracy of his historical and biological data. This is not an objective work. Nevertheless, it is published because this is what an educated, modern progressive Malay thinks and believes. This is how a politicaly-inclined Malay understands the past, explains the behaviour of his own people and the behaviour of immigrants, and forsees the future." - from back cover. One inch tear to bottom of front cover. Moderate wear. Unmarked. Solid copy. Book
