Hardcover, bound in later handsome three-quarters blond calf and marbled boards, crimson gilt morocco lettering-piece to spine, gilt fleurons, gilt-tooled raised bands, date stamped in gilt at foot; index and blank verso of few leaves with scholarly annotations inked in a very neat contemporary hand. In about fine condition. Excellent copy. ~ First edition.

Hardcover, bound in the original publisher's quarter red calf and matching cloth, spine lettered and decorated in gilt, side gilt ruled; corner-tips trifle chafed, first inner hinge cracked. In a very good condition. ~ Eighteenth edition, revised and corrected. With beautiful armorial bookplate to first paste-down and small institutional stamp to verso of title.
